It is possible that you need to scan items in a location that has no Internet connection or the Internet connection is limited to certain areas.
You can perform offline scanning for the following action:
- Verification
The scanned items are cached and you can check them in the offline list. Once your device is connected to the Internet again, you can log in to the mobile application, open the offline scanned items in the Serialized Logistics application, and submit all items at once.
Note: Offline scanning is only possible when Movilitas Mobile application is installed on a mobile device. Offline scanning is not supported in a web browser.
The procedure described below takes the use case when the operator scans the items by using the camera of the mobile device.
- For mobile devices with built-in scanners, the GUI buttons related to scanning, like Continue Scan, may not be displayed and you need to press the physical button on the device to scan.
- For devices with external (table) scanners, you can point the scanner to the barcode to scan and you can ignore the GUI buttons on the screen related to scanning.
Before You Begin
Make sure the administrator has assigned you as an operator to the Serialized Logistics application, assigned you to a warehouse, and authorized you to complete verification.
The administrator can assign you to a warehouse having a configured channel, for example, SAP ATTP.
Procedure
1. Open the Movilitas Mobile application. The application displays that you are not connected to the Internet.
2. Confirm the message and continue.
3. On the login page, select Offline Scan. The application displays the modes of operation.
4. Select Serialized Logistics. The application displays the following options:
- Verification
- Offline list
5. Select Verification. The application displays the geolocation data (latitude, longitude) and the application is ready for scanning.
Note: You can scan GS1 Data Matrix codes and GS1-128 barcodes. The application can handle GS1-128 barcodes that hold data about GTIN, batch, and expiry date. If you scan a GS1-128 SSCC barcode, serial number or batch details are not available.
6. Tap Scan Multiple Packs and scan the first pack. The application displays the scanned item in the list and the item is cached in the application.
7. Tap Continue Scan and scan further packs one by one. The application displays the scanned items in the list and the items are cached in the application.
Slide the item to the left for further options:
- Preview - Displays the details of the scanned item.
- Remove - Removes the scanned item from the list. Removed items are not cached anymore.
8. To view all the scanned items waiting for processing, select Offline list option. The application displays the list of cached items.

9. After you finished scanning offline and your device is connected to the Internet again, log in to Movilitas Mobile application.
10. Select Serialized Logistics application.
The application displays the list of actions assigned to you. Next to the Offline scanned items option, you can see the number of items waiting for submission.
11. Select Offline scanned items. The application displays the list of items scanned offline.

- Details - Displays the details of the scanned item.
- Remove - Removes the scanned item from the list. Removed items are not cached anymore.
12. To submit the items for verification, tap Verify All.
The application sends the items for verification to the external system, for example, SAP ATTP, and displays the verification result for each item. You can slide the item to the left and select Preview to view the details.
