Movilitas.Cloud application provides the Arvato CSDB channel to establish a connection to Arvato CSDB (SFTP).


Currently, the Arvato CSDB channel can be used in the following application:

  • Serialized Manufacturing

Configuring an Arvato CSDB Channel


Before You Begin


You have an account in Arvato CSDB.


You know the sender and receiver details (SGLN and partner IDs) for outgoing messages.


Procedure


1. Go to Movilitas.Cloud Console --> My tenants.

2. Select the tenant or click Open tenant next to it.

3. On the Tenant Dashboard, select the Channels tab. The application displays the list of channels assigned to the tenant.



4. Depending on your setup, create a new Arvato CSDB channel or modify an existing one. Follow one of the procedures described in the table below.


#Create a ChannelModify an Existing Channel

Click the + icon (Create channel). The application displays the Create channel dialog.

To search for an Arvato CSDB channel, use the search field and the filters:

  • Enter the channel name in the search field.
  • Select the status.
  • Select Arvato CSDB as the source.
  • Select Business channel as the type.

Select Business channel as the type and click Create.

The application displays the Create Channel page with an empty form to give the basic parameters of the channel.
To view the channel information, click on the channel name or the edit icon (Edit channel) next to the channel.

The application displays the Edit Channel page with the current channel settings.

Enter a name for the channel and select Arvato CSDB as the source.N/A
4.4Click Create Channel.

The application informs you about the additional costs. After confirming the creation, the application displays the Edit Channel page with a form where you can provide the connection details for the channel.

5. Provide the settings for the Arvato CSDB channel as explained in the table below:

Connection status

Displays the status of the connection to the Arvato CSDB. Click on the status message to refresh the status and verify that the connection is up and running.


If the connection is not set up or there is a failure in the connection, the application displays the message Not connected to Arvato CSDB.

UsernameEnter the username in Arvato CSDB.
PasswordEnter the password in Arvato CSDB.
Sender Partner IDEnter the sender partner ID to be used in the outgoing messages.
Sender SGLNEnter the sender SGLN to be used in the outgoing messages.
Receiver Partner IDEnter the receiver partner ID to be used in the outgoing messages.
Receiver SGLNEnter the receiver SGLN to be used in the outgoing messages.

6. Click Save Settings.


7. (Optional) If needed, change the name of the channel and click Save Channel.


8. Verify the connection status.

Monitoring Incoming SFTP Transactions (Inbox)


Once a serial number request is sent to Arvato CSDB (SFTP), Movilitas.Cloud regularly polls Arvato CSDB for the serial number provisioning file (response). The returned response (VS010 message) is downloaded, linked to the request, processed, and finally deleted in Arvato CSDB. The response is separately logged under the Inbox tab.


A transaction can take one of the following statuses:

  • Circular arrows icon - Pending status.
  • Green checkmark icon - Successful status.
  • Red exclamation mark icon - Failed status. An error occurred during the process.


Procedure


1. Go to Movilitas.Cloud Console --> My tenants.

2. Select the tenant or click Open tenant next to it.

3. On the Tenant Dashboard, select the Channels tab. The application displays the list of channels assigned to the tenant.

4. To search for an Arvato CSDB channel, use the search field and the filters:

  • Enter the channel name in the search field.
  • Select the status.
  • Select Arvato CSDB as the source.
  • Select Business channel as the type.


5. To view the channel information, click on the channel name or the edit icon (Edit channel) next to the channel.


The application displays the Edit Channel page with the current channel settings and the Arvato CSDB SFTP Transactions panel with the Inbox tab.

6. Find the transaction by using the search field. Enter the filename or a part of the filename.


If you want to filter on a specific type of message, enter the following:

  • VS010 -> Serial number provisioning file (response)


You can click the Reset filters button in the top-right corner of the logs to remove the search criteria.


7. Expand the message for the details. For each message in the list, the following are displayed:

After expanding the log, you can view the details:

  • Status
  • File size
  • File name that reflects the type of message:
    • VS010 - Serial number provisioning file (response) as follows: [RandomNumber]_[ReceivingComPartnerId]-Gateway_VS010_CSDB-[SendingComPartnerId]-[Timestamp].xml
  • XML preview with download option
Status

Status of the message:

  • Pending - Processing of the file is in progress.
  • Green checkmark icon - The file is successfully processed.
    • The serial number pool of the product (GTIN) is filled with the provided serial numbers.
    • The serial number provisioning file (response) is linked to the request under the Outbox tab.
    • The serial number provisioning file is deleted in Arvato CSDB.
  • Red exclamation mark icon - The file is not processed, an error occurred.
Request ID
The ID of the corresponding serial number request (an auto-generated UUID).
File name
The name of the serial number provisioning file.
Last modified

The timestamp of the last modification. It is in the local time zone of the user's computer.

Monitoring Outgoing SFTP Transactions (Outbox)


Movilitas.Cloud uploads the files to Arvato CSDB (SFTP). The following requests are supported:

  • Serial number request. Once the response (serial number provisioning file) is returned by Arvato CSDB, the response is linked to the request.
  • Commissioning request.


A transaction can take one of the following statuses:

  • Circular arrows icon - Pending status.
  • Green checkmark icon - Successful status.
  • Red exclamation mark icon - Failed status. An error occurred during the process.


Procedure

2. Select the tenant or click Open tenant next to it.

Status

Status of the message:

  • Pending - Sending the file is in progress.
  • Green checkmark icon - The file is successfully uploaded to Arvato CSDB.
  • Red exclamation mark icon - An error occurred while uploading the file. 
Sent DatetimeThe timestamp when the message was sent to Arvato CSDB. It is in the local time zone of the user's computer.
SenderThe SGLN of the sender.
ReceiverThe SGLN of the receiver.
CommentsAn optional message providing further details about the error (if any).


The following example illustrates a successful serial number request (VS009) with the serial number provisioning file (response) returned from Arvato CSDB.
