A delivery (outbound order) can contain items that are located in different places within a large warehouse site. The items are not moved to the same place to prepare them for the delivery but the people in different places can put the items together to complete the delivery (order).

Open the mobile application for Serialized Logistics in the browser to pack an order. There are two different scenarios:

  • Validating a multi-case delivery without pallets.
    • In parallel with this action, other users can validate picking (Validate picking action).
  • Managing a pallet delivery and validating the delivery.
    • In parallel with this action, other users can add homogeneous pallets to a delivery (Packing - Orders action) or can validate picking (Validate picking action).

Note:

  • This action is only applicable when shipping pharmaceutical products to the United States and reporting the shipping to SAP ICH.
  • This action is only available in the browser. The action is not supported on mobile devices having the installed version of the mobile application.

List of Procedures

Validating a Multi-Case Delivery without Pallets

In this scenario, you validate a multi-case delivery where the validated cases are not put on pallets or the pallet that contains the cases is unknown in Movilitas.Cloud.

The validated cases (SSCCs) come from the Validate picking action. You can refresh the view to see the validated cases (SSCCs) that are being added to the delivery in parallel.

Before You Begin

Make sure the administrator has assigned you as an operator to the Serialized Logistics application and authorized you to pack an order in the specified warehouse.

To retrieve the multi-case deliveries without pallets, a special route is assigned to the deliveries in the application:

  • As a prerequisite, the route is registered in the Serialized Logistics application under the Site management > Routes tab. The Pack an order mode on outbound external orders is multi-case checkbox is selected for the route.
  • When a delivery is created from an IDOC Delvry file, the file refers to this special route. At this moment, the delivery is automatically linked to that route.

Procedure

1. Open Movilitas Mobile in the browser and select the Serialized Logistics application.

2. Select Pack an order. The application displays the Multi-case delivery button in the top-right corner of the screen.

3. Click on the Multi-case delivery button.

  • The application displays a maximum of 20 multi-case deliveries in a list but all the deliveries are searchable.
  • The application shows only the deliveries that are in In picking validation status.

4. Find the delivery by using the search field.

5. Select the delivery. The application displays the delivery ID, the cases (SSCCS) that are validated for the delivery through the Validate Picking action, and the current delivery totals at the bottom of the screen.

Section on the ScreenDescription
CasesThe case SSCCs (if any) are expandable and you can view their content:
  • NDC / Product name / Quantity / NDC barcode - Each lower level is expandable until you get to the trade items.
    • Batch / Expiration date pair
      • GTIN and Scanned Quantity
        • (Aggregated) Trade items
Delivery totals

At the bottom of the screen, the application displays the current delivery totals for each NDC section (line item of the delivery - order):

  • NDC
  • Product name
  • Batch
    • Note: The batch column applies only if the batch is specified for the line item of the delivery (order). In that case, multiple NDC sections can be displayed with the same NDC but a different batch. Otherwise, all batches of the product are collected within the same NDC section and the batch column is not visible.
  • Included quantity vs. total expected quantity

Each NDC section is highlighted with a color depending on the level of completeness:

  • Green - Completed.
  • Turquoise - Partially completed.
  • Red - Nothing is scanned.
  • Yellow - Exceeding the total expected quantity (Overpicking).

Until the first case (SSCC) is validated in the Validate picking action, the delivery totals show “0” for the included quantity for each NDC section. Once a case (SSCC) is validated in the Validate picking action and you revisit or refresh the Pack an order screen, the delivery totals and the status of completeness are updated at the bottom of the screen for the corresponding NDC section.

Actions

Circular arrow icon (Refresh) - You can refresh the content of the delivery and the delivery totals at the bottom. This function enables you to see the case SSCCs that are validated in the Validate picking action in parallel.

Validated - You can set the delivery to Picking validated status.

6. If all cases are included and the delivery totals meet the expectations, click Validated.

If there is under-delivery below the tolerance value, the application displays an error message with the concerned line item(s):

  • You need to add further cases to the delivery through the Validate Picking mobile action.
  • Over-delivery is already checked in the Validate Picking mobile action that precedes this procedure.
  • By default, over-delivery is not allowed while it is possible to include less than the expected quantity or do not include anything for a line item (product). However, custom delivery limits may apply as set by an authorized user in the Admin UI for the parent outbound order.

If the delivery totals are within the tolerance range, the delivery and the parent order are updated under the Orders > Outbound orders tab in the Admin UI:

  • The status of the delivery is Picking validated.
  • The status of the parent order remains In shipping.
  • In the delivery view, the application displays the truck icon (Ship delivery) in the Action column for the delivery.

Next Steps

An authorized user can ship the delivery in the Admin UI.

Managing a Pallet Delivery and Validating the Delivery

In this scenario, you perform the following:

  • Putting validated case SSCCs (output of Validate picking action) and case GTINs on pallets.
  • Refreshing the view to see the homogeneous pallets being added from the Packing - Orders action.
  • Adding mixed pallets to the delivery.
  • Verifying the delivery totals and validating the delivery.

Before You Begin

Make sure the administrator has assigned you as an operator to the Serialized Logistics application and authorized you to pack an order in the specified warehouse.

Procedure

1. Open Movilitas Mobile in the browser and select the Serialized Logistics application.

2. Select Pack an order.

3. Enter or scan the delivery ID. The application displays the delivery ID, the pallets (SSCCS) added to the delivery (if any), and the current delivery totals at the bottom of the screen.

Section on the ScreenDescription
PalletsThe pallets (if any) are expandable and you can view their content:
  • Case SSCC - Each lower level is expandable until you get to the trade items.
    • NDC / Product name / Quantity / NDC barcode
      • Batch / Expiration date pair
        • GTIN and Scanned Quantity
          • (Aggregated) Trade items
  • Case GTIN - (Aggregated) Trade item with included quantity.
Delivery totals

At the bottom of the screen, the application lists the current delivery totals for each NDC section (line item of the delivery - order):

When starting the process, the delivery totals show “0” for the included quantity for each NDC section. Once a change is performed, the delivery totals and the status of completeness are updated at the bottom of the screen for the corresponding NDC section:

  • Adding an item to a pallet.
  • Removing an item from a pallet.
  • Adding a homogeneous pallet (SSCC) to the delivery.
  • Removing a homogeneous pallet (SSCC) from the delivery.
  • Adding a mixed pallet (SSCC) to the delivery.
Actions

Scan active pallet red text / Change Pallet - You need to scan the active pallet and then you can pack case SSCCs or case GTINs into the pallet. You can change the active pallet by clicking on the Change Pallet button and scanning the new pallet. Once clicking on the button, the application displays Scan active pallet in red again.

Circular arrow icon (Refresh)- You can refresh the content of the delivery and the delivery totals at the bottom. This function enables you to see the homogeneous pallets that are added to the delivery in parallel.

Add Mixed Pallet - You can add an already prepared mixed pallet to the delivery by clicking on the Add Mixed Pallet button and scanning the pallet in the Scan mixed pallet pop-up window.

Validated - You can set the delivery to Picking validated status.

Dustbin icon (Delete) - You can remove items until the delivery is validated (fully packed) as follows:

  • Homogeneous pallets (SSCCs) from the "Packing - orders" action.
  • Case GTINs or case SSCCs that are put on a pallet in the “Pack an order” action. When removing the last case from the pallet, the pallet is also removed.
  • Case GTINs that were put on a mixed pallet in the “Packing - items” action. When removing the last case from the pallet, the pallet is also removed.

Remove Items - You can remove multiple items at once through scanning.

  1. Click on the Remove Items button.
  2. Scan the items one by one in the Remove items pop-up window.
    • To view the details of an item or remove an item from the list, slide the item to the left and select Preview or Remove, respectively.
  3. Click Confirm.
    • The scanned items are removed.
    • If a scanned item is not part of the delivery or breaks the deletion rules (not allowed to delete), the application displays an error message and shows the items that caused the error.
      • To view the details of an item, slide the item to the left and select Preview.
      • However, the items that meet the deletion rules and are part of the delivery are removed.

Note: Removing a case GTIN or a case SSCC from a pallet is an unpack action. The removed case SSCCs remain in validated status and are still linked to the delivery.

4. Scan the active pallet.

  • A pop-up message that fades away after a few seconds guides you to start scanning under the pallet.
  • If the pallet already contains a child or more, the pallet is expandable and you can view its content. Each lower level is expandable until you get to the trade items. A non-empty pallet is allowed only when the pallet has already been involved in the Pack an order action earlier.
  • When scanning a new active pallet, the pallet must be empty. Otherwise, the application displays an error message.
  • If the scanned pallet has an SSCC that is not known in Movilitas.Cloud, the application displays an error message.

5. Scan the case SSCCs and/or case GTINs one by one and put them on the pallet.

  • The hierarchy of the pallet is recalculated.
  • If auto-unpack during shipping is activated at the warehouse level, the scanned case GTIN (trade item) is aggregated, and the hierarchy is known in Movilitas.Cloud, the application unpacks the item in the background before adding it to the pallet. All parent trade items are dissolved in the hierarchy and optionally, the parent container(s) (SSCCs) can be also dissolved. These actions are performed on Movilitas.Cloud database only and the event is not sent to an external system.
  • If auto-unpack during shipping is not activated at the warehouse level and the scanned case GTIN (trade item) is aggregated, the item is not added to the pallet. The application displays a message that the item is aggregated and needs to be unpacked first.
  • If any of the scanned items is not known, not in the correct status, or is not linked to the delivery, the application displays an error message.

6. If you want to change the active pallet, do as follows:

  1. Click Change Pallet.
  2. Scan the active pallet.
  3. Scan the case SSCCs and/or case GTINs one by one and put them on the pallet.

7. If you want to add a mixed pallet, do as follows:

  1. Click on the Add Mixed Pallet button.
  2. Scan the pallet in the Scan mixed pallet pop-up window.
    • It is only possible to scan one SSCC at one time.
    • If the scanned pallet has an SSCC that is not known in Movilitas.Cloud, the application displays an error message.

8. If the delivery is fully packed and the delivery totals meet the expectations, click Validated.

If there is under-delivery below the tolerance value or over-delivery above the tolerance value, the application displays an error message with the concerned line item(s):

  • You need to keep the delivery limits, that is, remove extra items or add further items to the delivery.
  • By default, over-delivery is not allowed while it is possible to include less than the expected quantity or do not include anything for a line item (product). However, custom delivery limits may apply as set by an authorized user for the parent outbound order in the Admin UI.
