Use the Serialized Logistics mobile application to scan the products to be unpacked. For example, you have packs in a showbox, case, or pallet, and you want to unpack them.

Note: The procedure described below takes the use case when the operator scans the items by using the camera of the mobile device.

  • For mobile devices with built-in scanners, the GUI buttons related to scanning, like Scan Item, may not be displayed and you need to press the physical button on the device to scan.
  • For devices with external (table) scanners, you can point the scanner to the barcode to scan and you can ignore the GUI buttons on the screen related to scanning.

Before You Begin

Make sure the administrator has assigned you as an operator to the Serialized Logistics application and authorized you to unpack products in the specified warehouse.

The administrator can assign you to a warehouse that connects to the following system:

  • SAP ICH

Procedure

1. Open the Serialized Logistics application in Movilitas Mobile.

2. Select Unpack.

3. (Connection to SAP ICH only) If the application displays the Scan Parent button, scan the parent. The application displays the parent details.

4. Open the logistic unit grouping the items.

5. Tap Scan Item and scan the first item in the logistic unit.

  • If there is an issue with the item, you are prompted with a message, and, depending on the case, the application can highlight the item in red in the list with the error message.
  • To view the details of an item or remove an item, slide the item to the left and select Preview or Remove, respectively.

6. (Optional) Scan multiple items by tapping Continue Scan and take the item out of the logistic unit. You can scan up to 20 items.

7. When you finished scanning, select Unpack Items. The items are no longer grouped in the logistic unit. The application displays a summary of the unpacked items with a preview option by sliding the item to the left.

  • If an item is already linked to an outbound delivery (order) and therefore the item is involved in a shipping activity, the application displays an error message and it is not possible to unpack until the item is removed from the list.
  • If an item is not in possession, meaning that it is shipped and is not in the warehouse, the application displays an error message and it is not possible to unpack until the item is removed from the list.

System Actions during Unpack

The unpack action triggers the following system actions in the background:

  • If the parent is a trade item (bundle or case), the parent releases all its children and gets Decommissioned (Destroyed) status in the system. The dissolving action is repeated for all parents in the hierarchy that are trade items.
  • If the Dissolve SSCC when unpacking checkbox is selected for the warehouse, the dissolving action is extended with the parent SSCC (container) also, on top of dissolving parent trade items. The parent SSCC releases all its children and gets Decommissioned (Destroyed) status in the system. The dissolving action is repeated for all parent SSCCs in the hierarchy.

Note: These actions are performed on Movilitas.Cloud database only and the event is not sent to an external system.
